122nd GENERAL MEETING OF THE BURRUM CHAMBER OF COMMERCE INCORPORATED HELD ON MONDAY, 2nd FEBUARY, 2009

Discussion was had on the following matters of community concern

1…New treasurer for Burrum Chamber of Commerce appointed

2…Police numbers in Howard to now increase from 2 to 5 persons

3…Wide Bay Water report on state grant application to sewer Howard

4…Street light application Nov 2006 still not acted on by council

5…Howard-Torbanlea bridge, a lifeline to area but dangerous

6…Funding of Bridge upgrade by council please

7…Where are our rates monies from Burrum District being spent?

8… Fraser Coast Economic Profile Booklet – discrepancies regarding Howard

9…Councillor O’Connel seeks continued support for the ‘Greet Group’

10..Pacific Haven Circuit area a nightmare for following street numbers

11…Accurate flood & old mines maps to be made available to council & developers

12..Development Seminar hosted by HB to be attended by selected Burrum members

13..Coal mining to go ahead in the area near Howard. Expect 50-100 jobs..!!

14…Local Chambers and council to have 3 monthly meetings-Planned

15…Transport/Truck issues with coal mining activities

16…Arthur Thompson [SES Leader] send off function praised

17…Newspapers to interview selected successful local businesses

18…Update on Fraser Coast Rural Enterprises concept

19…Chamber members to submit their emails & staff for inclusion in mailouts

20…New SES leader temp. appointed. Tim Carson introduced to members
