THE TORNADO THAT STRUCK BURRUM HEADS QLD IN JAN 2013

BUURUM HEADS TORNADO CARNAGE TO BE MADE GOOD

Hillcrest Holiday Park in Burrum Heads is now the focal point of clean-up operations as council, State Emergency Services, and community volunteers slave under the hot sun to put things right.

The Burrum Heads Library has become a centre of community support today, providing breakfast and dinner at 5.30pm.

To combat high temperatures and water shortages, council staff have been distributing free water and sandwiches for those working to restore order in Burrum Heads.

The riverside promenade and a narrow strip 10kms long where the tornado tore through the township Sunday morning remains strewn with smaller debris.

Power and telecommunications have been restored.
