You are invited to participate in a Keep Australia Working forum, being hosted by the Parliamentary Secretary for Employment, the Hon Jason Clare MP and Business Leader Mr Lindsay Fox.

The purpose of Keep Australia Working forums is to bring together key local business and community leaders to discuss how to:

  • maximise the impact of the stimulus package
  • support existing jobs and industry
  • promote new opportunities, new industry and new skills

  • identify what new skills need to be developed.
The forums are playing a major role in helping to activate local communities, with key stakeholders working together to create and maintain jobs and maximise opportunities created by the Government’s economic stimulus measures.
By attending the forum you will be playing a major role in identifying solutions to local employment problems. You will also have the opportunity to contribute directly to the development of the Regional Employment Plan for the Bundaberg-Hervey Bay priority employment area being written by the Local Employment Coordinator.

The forum also provides you with the unique opportunity to share your experiences and ideas with the Parliamentary Secretary and Mr Fox.

FUN RIDE – MEALS ON WHEELS FUND RAISER – HERVEY BAY QLD

Wheels 4 Meals is a fun ride to raise funds for the Hervey Bay Qld Meals for wheels

With over 65,000 meals prepared and delivered in the Hervey Bay area each year, this group of dedicated staff and volunteers has out grown their current kitchen premises and requests your support in building their new kitchen centre.

The Wheels for Meals Fun Ride is open to all ages and runs from Point Vernon to Dayman Park over an easy 1hr course (12km) along the picturesque Charlton Esplanade Hervey Bay. Download course map

At the finish line there will be a BBQ lunch with stalls and Family style entertainment. Singles, Families and corporate groups are welcome and imagination in their wheeled, non motorised transport is encouraged.

Money raised from this event will aid Meals on Wheels Hervey Bay in funding a larger meals preparation site, to cope with an increasing demand for the support of the frail aged, people with disabilities, and their caregivers, in our community, to assist them to continue living in their own homes.

Raising funds for local Special Schools

When:   18 September (Friday)
Where:  Hervey Bay Golf & Country Club

Bob Bridgestone Tyre Centre is organising a 3 Ball Ambrose Golf Day in which it is hoped they will raise $5000 towards a new bus for the Hervey Bay Special School and a further $5000 for the Maryborough Special School.

There will be food and drinks provided on the course + lots of raffles (so bring your wallet).

The day is all about raising lots of money for the local Special Schools.

Sponsorship fee is $350 or goods to that value.

Arts workers, arts groups, community groups, do you want money?

Whatever you or your organisation does, you might do it better by using arts and cultural activities. If so, the RADF is for you!

The Regional Arts Development Fund can provide funding to you as an individual or an organisation for a wide range of arts and cultural activities.

Your local RADF Committee is holding a workshop that explains how the fund works and how to access the money. If you have ideas for arts and cultural activities that you think may be eligible for funding, come and talk about them and get yourself started on the application process.

and 6 bedrooms which will sleep up to 18 guests for $200
per night.   This is an incredible $11 per person if you fill it.
