Great to see this very much used intersection being upgraded & well overdue

Department of main roads Queensland has been assessing the Torbanlea intersection for some time and has now actually nominated the Sunstate Group Qld Pty. Ltd to carry out the works.

Jim Gabriel project manager for Sunstate said they would be doing the upgrade over the next 4-6 months

Ron Grieves from the Dept of Main Roads has commented on the need for this upgrade and will get back to his department re the placement of further pipes under the highway for future growth plans for the area and especially the 60 acres or so across the highway where a proposal for a 300 modular home village has been put forward to be used by the ‘Grey Nomads’.

The existing power lines over the highway will be replaced by an underground service as part of the current intersection upgrade
